Staff Meeting
The April staff meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 8:30 am, in the conference room. No fooling! The meeting is usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, but has been moved to April 16th for this month. All volunteers are welcome to attend.

Food Pantry Change
We have adjusted our food pantry guidelines from once every two weeks to once per month. This was done because it is a challenge to keep enough food on the shelves to accommodate the number of people accessing the pantry. In this way, hopefully, we will better serve the families coming through the pantry.

Even if we could spend an unlimited amount of money at the Capital Area Food Bank, they don’t have the inventory to provide what we need. Last year, we spent $61,000 at the food bank. So far this year, we are running over budget trying to keep food on the shelves. We need to remember that we are an emergency pantry, and should be supplementing our clients’ food stamps.

We’ll re-evaluate the inventory at the end of the year. All clients will be encouraged to partake of the Fresh Food for Families distribution. Clients will also be encouraged to enroll for food stamps, if they currently aren’t. The Serving Center is averaging 1,200 households each month.
KUDO’s
Thank You Very Much!!!

What a team! The Computers for Kids project is getting ready to start placing the computers for this year. John Jackson, Charles Barker, Mel Cruts, and Cynthia Flores have worked diligently to get the computers ready and line up the names of the kids to receive the computers. Thank you!!!!!

Congratulations
The Treasures store sales continue to be very good!!!!! Thank you for your good work and thank you for shopping!! It takes many people to sort, price, tag, and sell the merchandise. Our sales are running ahead of the projected sales by 26%. Congratulations!!

Credit Cards
Soon, we will begin accepting MasterCard and Visa. Customers will also be able to use their debit cards. We believe that this service will enhance our thrift store sales, as well as making it easy to give financial contributions. We’ll all get trained in the next couple of weeks.
